Description

Out to Baulkham Hills where some Ornamental ‘Bradford’ Pears Pyrus calleryana required dismantling to ground level along with the removal of some piles of branches and logs already on site. The Pyrus while it can be a lovely specimen tree can also take over if not kept in check with regular pruning and shaping. Whilst a rather appealing specimen tree it is declared an invasive species in the US where it is widely planted across the country. This tree, native to China and Vietnam, also has a distinct aroma that many find unpleasant. So, with several good reasons for removal ticked off before we even begin, the work was carried out promptly and efficiently and an excellent end result was achieved. All work was completed to a high standard and the area of removal was left clean and tidy with all debris and green waste removed. A stump grinder was brought in to remove all traces of the Bradford pears to avoid any chance of regrowth from this vigorous and hardy specimen tree in the future. A good reminder to think about which trees and shrubs you plant in the garden and their potential to cause issues further down the track. As it was, this removal will now allow for the planting of several smaller feature trees and shrubs to fill the cleared area or for the creation of an outdoor space more to the owner’s liking.
