Hawkesbury Council Tree Regulations

The Hawkesbury Council regulates tree removal through the State Environmental Planning Policy (Vegetation in Non-Rural Areas) 2017 (Vegetation SEPP), introduced on August 25, 2017. This policy outlines the conditions under which tree removal and vegetation clearing are permissible. Approval is required for non-native vegetation and native vegetation below the biodiversity offsets scheme threshold. If the clearing exceeds this threshold, the Native Vegetation Panel must grant approval. Exceptions include dead or dying trees and vegetation posing a risk to human life or property, as confirmed by the Council in writing. Arbor Pride adheres to these regulations by performing comprehensive assessments and ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained before any tree removal or maintenance work. We utilise the Office of Environment and Heritage’s online Biodiversity Offsets Scheme Entry Tool to determine if clearing will exceed the threshold. Arbor Pride’s licensed and insured professionals prioritise safety and compliance, minimising environmental impact and ensuring adherence to local regulations. Our services include tree removal, pruning, topiary, hedge cutting, tree care, consulting, and stump grinding, all conducted with transparency and respect for the environment.
