Parramatta City Council requires written permission for the removal or pruning of any tree with a height equal to or exceeding 5m and for any cycad, palm or mangrove, regardless of its size. Exemptions include any tree that is dead or dying, or any tree covered by the List of Undesirable Trees or the Noxious Weeds Act 1993.
